Foundation Internet Services, LLC was established in 1996 with initial project concentrations in network software development, network hardware installation and Web database development.

Our first client was the St. Francis Health System of Pittsburgh. At the time, SFHS was a large corporate entity comprising four hospitals, two nursing homes, 4000 employees and its own health plan. FIS brought hardware, networking, and software expertise to create an effective wide-area Internet access system used throughout the St. Francis system. We created their first homepages and brought email to hundreds of their employees. Their Internet presence so early in the history of the Web was unparalleled in the Pittsburgh Healthcare environment.
